4 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Safari

Trip Overview

You will Set out on an exciting 4-day journey through the heart of some of Africa’s most famous forests. This safari starts in the vibrant city of Kigali, Rwanda, and travels through scenic rural hills before arriving to the Bwindi Gorilla Forest in Uganda, which is well-known for its amazing gorilla trekking opportunities. After the gorilla hike, this tour includes a community walk in Uganda and ends with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center, making it a profound and contemplative way to end your safari.

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and transfer to the hotel.

When you arrive at Rwanda’s Kigali International Airport, one of our team members will greet you and inform you on your safari before introducing you to your tour guide. They will warmly welcome you, exemplifying the hospitality of the land of a thousand hills,there after they will transport you to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable NP in Uganda

After breakfast, our guide will pick you up from your accommodation and take you to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in southwestern Uganda. Along the route, you’ll be able to  view  the stunning views of the surrounding terrain including terraced farmland. The Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to half of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas. You will have the afternoon to unwind and appreciate your surroundings. You will have meals and overnight at your lodge.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable NP and Batwa cultural village.

You will enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning before preparing for a briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority staff. Following that, you will explore the jungle as you look for mountain gorillas and witness them in their natural environment. When you find the gorillas, you can spend an hour admiring these wonderful creatures and looking into their large, round eyes. A gorilla safari requires a certain degree of fitness. The gorilla tracking experience can last half a day or the entire day, depending on the gorillas’ movements. This experience will provide you with amazing recollections. In the afternoon, prepare for a village foot safari to explore Batwa’s unique local life, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 4: Transfer from Bwindi to Kigali for departure

Begin your day with an early breakfast, followed by a brief sightseeing tour, ideal for photography. After that you will  board your vehicle and proceed back to Kigali. Upon landing in Kigali, have lunch before visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre. Following this moving visit, you will be taken to the airport for your departure flight.
