4 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Safari

Trip Overview

Your 4-day gorilla safari tour in Rwanda will be an amazing experience. You will be able to see gorillas in their native habitat, go on a golden monkey walk, visit the Genocide Memorial in Kigali, and experience culture in a  cultural village in Musanze. This safari experience will be one to remember and share for a lifetime.

Day 1:Arrival at Kigali International Airport.

Your Driver guide will greet you warmly at Kigali International Airport and give you an overview of your upcoming adventure. After that, you’ll be taken to your hotel to check in after that you will enjoy your dinner and overnight at the Hotel as you wait for your adventure to begin.

Day 2:City Tour at Kigali and then proceed to Volcanoes National Park.

Today, following an early breakfast, you will leave the lodge and go to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre. This center uses education and peace-building to remember the memories of almost one million Rwandans who died in 1994. You will be able to watch and listen to video excerpts from some of the survivors of the incident.After lunch, you will drive to Volcanoes National Park, to your booked lodge.  You will Spend the remainder of the afternoon relaxing and preparing for the following day’s hike.

Day 3: Volcanoes National Park Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Village Visit.

After an early breakfast, you will be transported to the park headquarters. There, you will meet with your ranger, who will explain the rules of conduct while with the gorillas. You will then enter the forest in quest of gorillas. The journey could last 2-6 hours, depending on the movement of the gorillas in the jungle and the speed of your group. You will be able to meet and stay with the gorillas for up to one hour. After this fantastic adventure, you will walk back to the starting point and then be transferred to your accommodation for lunch. After lunch, you can choose to rest at your lodge or go to Ibyiwacu for a cultural experience.

Day 4: Golden monkey trekking, then transfer to Kigali for departure.

After an excellent breakfast, you will be picked up by our safari driver-guide and you will be  taken to the park headquarters for a briefing. With your packed lunch, you will begin your day by going on a  golden monkey trekking in the jungle to find these primates. Golden monkey hiking is a less demanding experience than gorilla trekking. You will then return to the lodge for lunch before continuing on to Kigali. If you have time, you can take a small city tour before your evening airport transfer.
