Discover THE Ngorongoro Crater.

The Ngorongoro Crater lies in the Ngorongoro Conservation area in the North Eastern of Tanzania. It is considered to be the world’s Largest Inactive Caldera. The  Crater was formed when a Volcano erupted and Collapsed approximately 1 Million years ago. The diameter of the crater is about 20 Kilometers. The Ngorongoro crater found in the Arusha Region in Tanzania is one of the seven Natural wonders in Africa. Within the broader Ngorongoro Conservation Area, there are several other notable craters besides the famous Ngorongoro Crater. These craters add to the geological and ecological diversity of the region. The few prominent craters Include:

Olmoti Crater

Olmoti Crater is located to the North of Ngorongoro Crater. The Crater floor of Olmoti crater is relative shallow Compared to the Ngorongoro Crater. It has a diameter of 6.5 Km.Olmoti Crater is known for the Munge River which flow  down to the Munge waterfall at the western rim of the Crater. The Munge waterfall is a popular tourist attraction.

Empakai Crater.

Empakai Crater is Located at the North east of Ngorongoro Crater. It is approximately 6 Kilometers in diameter  and features a deep lake at the center that covers about half of the crater floor. The crater’s view gives views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Oldonyo Lengai and the Great Rift Valley. The surrounding forests and Lake attract a variety of species ,Including flamingos that are attracted to the Lake’s alkaline water. Other creatures seen near the crater include buffaloes,bushbucks and a variety of bird Species. Tourist enjoy hiking at the Empakai Crater.

        Game Drives

The most Popular activity in Ngorongoro crater is game drives which allow visitors
to explore the abundant wildlife in Ngorongoro crater. The Game drives are
usually undertaken in the early Morning or late afternoon when animals are
mostly active.

       Guided Walks and Hikes:

Walking and hiking involves visitors trekking along the Crater rims, this provides a chance to explore the region’s rich biodiversity, which is home to a variety of bird species and other wildlife. These walking and trekking activities are conducted by armed rangers therefore visitors should not be worried about their safety. Hikes and walks can be tailored to different level of fitness level to ensure an enjoyable experience for all Participants.

       Cultural Tours:

Visitors can also Visit Maasai villages in the Ngorongoro Conservation area where they can learn about the Maasai People way of life, their traditions, and how they coexist with wildlife.
