Is it safe to go on a safari in Tanzania?

Yes, safaris in Tanzania are safe. Our guides are trained professionals who prioritize your safety throughout the trip.We also provide briefings on how to stay safe around wildlife and in various environments. Following these guidelines ensures a safe and enjoyable safari experience.

How many days should I plan for a safari?

A minimum of 5-7 days is recommended for a comprehensive safari experience, allowing you to visit multiple parks and enjoy a variety of wildlife sightings. However, shorter or longer trips can be arranged depending on your schedule and interests.

Do I need a visa to enter Tanzania, and should I obtain it before or upon arrival?

Yes, most travelers need a visa to enter Tanzania.We recommend obtaining your visa upon arrival at the airport. This is often more convenient and  a straightforward process at the entry point. You’ll need a valid passport, a return ticket, and  Visa fees  which is payable in cash at the airport.You can also apply for your visa online before your trip through the Tanzania immigration website.

What vaccinations are required before traveling to Tanzania?

There are no mandatory vaccinations required for you to visit Tanzania. However, if you are traveling from a country with a risk of yellow fever, a yellow fever vaccination may be required. It’s recommended to consult with a travel health specialist for personalized advice based on your travel itinerary and health status.

Do the lodges/camps provide amenities like electricity, hot water, and Internet?

Most lodges and many camps in Tanzania provide electricity and hot water. Safari Accommodations are designed to offer comfort and convenience, with facilities to ensure a pleasant stay. Internet access is available at all lodges and most camps; however, connectivity may be limited or slower in more remote areas.

Which type of vehicles will I use on safari?

At Tansafari Tours, we use  4×4 Land cruisers specifically designed for safari tours. These vehicles are equipped with popped-up roofs, allowing you to enjoy unobstructed views and take photographs easily. Each vehicle is also fitted with an inverter for charging your electrical gadgets and a fridge to keep your drinks cool during the journey. Our vehicles are built for comfort and convenience, ensuring an exceptional safari experience.

What wildlife will I see on safari?

Tanzania is home to diversity of wildlife, such as  the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino), cheetahs, hippos, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, various antelope species, and a multitude of bird species. In fact, Tanzania boasts one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, offering the opportunity to see almost all major African animals.

Can safaris be customized to our preferences?

Absolutely! We offer customizable safari packages to cater to your interests and preferences. Whether you’re interested in a specific type of wildlife, a particular park, or certain activities, we can tailor your safari preferences to create a unique experience for you.

What is the difference between standard,Comfort and Luxury accommodation?

Standard, Comfort and Luxury are types of accommodations. Standard accommodations provide basic necessities for stay without additional Luxury. Comfort accommodations on the other hand are higher in quality compared to standard accommodations, they tend to have better facilities that provide higher level of comfort. Finally, Luxury accommodations provide the highest level of comfort, service, and amenities.This level of service all reflects in the Price, whereby Standard accommodation have a lower price compared to Comfort and Luxury which has the highest price.

How many people will be in the safari vehicle?

Our safari vehicles typically accommodate a maximum of 7 guests to ensure everyone has a window seat and ample space for comfort during safari. However, we often  offer private safaris where you and your party will be the only ones in the vehicle, providing a more exclusive and personalized experience.

How long are the game drives?

Game drives usually last between 3 to 4 hours. Early morning and late afternoon are the best times for wildlife viewing, as animals are more active. Full-day game drives with a packed lunch can also be arranged for those wanting to explore more of the park.

Can children join a safari?

Yes, children can join a safari. We offer family-friendly safari packages with activities and accommodations suitable for children. Our guides are experienced in working with families and ensuring that everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.

Can I charge my electronic devices during the safari?

Yes, our safari vehicles are equipped with inverters for charging electronic devices. Additionally,safari lodges and camps have charging stations or provide in-room charging facilities.

What should I know about tipping?

Tipping is not mandatory but is appreciated for good service. Typical tips are $10-15 per guest per day for guides and $5-$10 per guest per day for lodge or camp staff. Tipping guidelines may vary, and our team can provide more information upon request.

What meals are provided on safari?

Our safari packages include all meals, typically consisting of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Meals are prepared by professional chefs and feature a mix of local and international cuisine. We take into consideration various dietary needs, including those of vegans, vegetarians, and guests with allergies. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice to ensure that everyone enjoys delicious and safe meals throughout their safari experience

We encourage wearing masks, using hand sanitizer frequently, and maintaining social distancing at all times. Importantly, if there are any additional safety measures that we can implement to make you feel safer and/or more comfortable, please don’t hesitate to let us know!
