Trip Overview

Your adventure begins at Arusha National Park, home to Mount Meru and the unique black-and-white colobus monkey. From there, you’ll visit Tarangire, known for its baobab trees and large elephant herds, before heading to Lake Natron, a key breeding site for flamingos.

Next, you’ll spend four days exploring the Serengeti, followed by a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater to see the Big Five.Your  journey will continue to Lake Manyara. There after you’ll fly to Zanzibar, where you can enjoy the beach, explore the Island.

DAY 1: ARrival Tanzania

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by your Tansafari-Tours driver-guide, who will transfer you to your hotel in Arusha and brief you about your safari.

DAY 2: Arusha National Park

Your driver-guide will pick you up at your hotel this morning after breakfast and, together, you will head to Arusha National Park with packed lunches for the first game viewing of this safari. After lunch, enjoy a 1-to-2-hour hike to the waterfalls inside the park. Late afternoon, return to your hotel in Arusha.

DAY 3: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

This morning, you depart with your driver-guide to Tarangire National Park for a full day of game viewing. There is no better place to enjoy a peaceful authentic safari atmosphere than in Tarangire. If you are an elephant lover, this is the place for you! In addition, you have good chances of seeing zebras, lesser kudus, elands, gerenuks, and lions. Late afternoon, after a great day in the wild, you will head to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4: Full day IN Tarangire National Park

Today you will spend another full day in Tarangire, extending your game viewing to areas not covered yesterday. Late afternoon, you will leave the park and head to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5: Karatu – LAKE Natron

Have an early breakfast before heading to Lake Natron for what promises to be a fascinating adventure. Upon arrival, you will have time to relax before heading to the lake to see the flamingos and taking a short hike.

DAY 6: full day in LAKE NATRON

Today is a day to enjoy your new surroundings. In the morning, you will visit the hot springs and waterfalls (make sure to bring shoes that can get wet!), as well as take a walk through the village. From there, you will drive back to your accommodation for a hot lunch and some leisure time. In the evening, you will be taken to the observation point for beautiful views, sundowners, and snacks.

DAY 7: Lake Natron – Serengeti

Head out early this Serengeti National Park (about 5-6 hours).You will enter the park via Klein’s gate and, from there, enjoy your first game viewing in the world’s most famous wildlife habitat as you slowly make your way to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

DAY 8: Full day in the Serengeti

Waking up in the Serengeti is a truly special experience. The sights, sounds and smells of Africa are all around us, and ahead lies a full day of adventure in the world’s most famous national park.

Return to your accommodation before dark and enjoy a sundowner surrounded by the sights and sounds of the bush before sitting down to dinner.

DAY 9: full day in the Serengeti

“Serenget” means “endless plains” in the Maasai language. The Serengeti National Park stretches over approximately 15,000 square kilometers (5,800 square miles). It is one of the most magnificent wildlife sanctuaries in the world, unparalleled in natural beauty and wilderness.

Today you will enjoy a full day of exhilarating wildlife encounters in this unique animal habitat. Return to your accommodation before dark for dinner and overnight.

DAY 10: full day in the Serengeti

Head out early this morning to make the most of your last full day of adventure in the world’s most famous national park, extending your game viewing to areas not yet explored. Enjoy your last evening around the Serengeti camp fire and surrounded by the sounds of the bush.

DAY 11: Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Crater

Rise and shine! Have an early breakfast and proceed to the world-renown Ngorongoro Crater, created by the collapse of a volcano over two million years ago and home to the Big Five! 

Descend more than 600 meters (some 2,000 feet) to the crater floor, where you will explore the forest areas, the lake, and the open savanna where the lions hunt for food. If you are very lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the elusive black rhino!  

You will have a break for lunch at the hippo pool, and then continue with your game viewing until late afternoon, when we will proceed to your lodge in nearby Karatu for dinner and overnight.

DAY 12: KARATU – LAKE Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park for the last game viewing of this safari. Described by the famous American writer Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa,” this small and very beautiful park has a tremendous diversity of habitats. It is also rich in wildlife, with many, many baboons and more than 400 recorded bird species. Two-thirds of the park is taken up by the lake, whose waters are a hippo paradise! The lake’s grassy floodplains are dotted with large herds of buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, and giraffe. If you are extremely lucky, you might even spot one of Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions!! Late afternoon, you will head to your overnight accommodation for your last night on the safari circuit.

DAY 13: Fly to Zanzibar

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Arusha Airport for your flight to Zanzibar, where you will spend the remaining days before heading home. 

Upon arrival in Zanzibar, you will be met by your driver and transferred to your beach accommodation. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Zanzibar offers its visitors a balance between rest and relaxation, and interesting activities to help you discover the island. From the moment you step off the plane, you will feel the relaxation starting to sink in, and your senses will come alive with the perfume of spices in the air. The turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean and the powdery white-sand beaches beckon…You have arrived in paradise!

DAY 14: historic stone town & spice tour

Today you will enjoy a private guided tour of historic Stone Town, famous for its winding alleys, grand architecture, bustling bazaars, former sultans’ palaces, mosques, and old merchants’ houses with their remarkably ornate doors. Your visit will include the former slave market and other interesting sites. After your tour, you are free to spend some time strolling through the streets of the old town. When you are ready to call it a day, your driver will take you back to your beach accommodation.

DAY 15 & 16: day AT LEISURE

Today is another free day to do as you please. Enjoy!

DAY 17: Departure

After breakfast, check out from your room. You are welcome to use the shared facilities of your hotel until your departure. Your driver will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the airport in time to catch your outbound flight.
