DAY 1: Arrival in Tanzania

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by your Tansafari-Tours driver-guide, who will transfer you to your hotel in Arusha and brief you about your safari.

DAY 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Your driver-guide will meet you at your hotel this morning after breakfast and, together, you will head to Tarangire National Park with packed lunches for the first game viewing of your Tanzanian safari. There is no better place to enjoy a peaceful authentic safari atmosphere than in Tarangire. In addition to a lot of elephants, you have good chances of seeing zebras, lesser kudus, elands, gerenuks, and lions. Late afternoon, after a great day in the wild, you will head to your overnight accommodation in Karatu

DAY 3: karatu – NGORONGORO CRATER

Enjoy an early breakfast and then drive to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater,  with its magnificent views, and descend the 600 meters (approximately 2,000 feet) into the crater floor for what promises to be an exciting day of wildlife encounters. Explore the forest areas, the lake, and the open savanna where the lions hunt for food. If you are very lucky, you might even have the chance to see the elusive black rhino! You will stop for a picnic lunch at the hippo pool inside the crater. 

Late afternoon, return to your Karatu accommodation for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4: karatu – Serengeti national park

Depart early this morning to the Serengeti National Park’s Naabi Hill Gate, the entry point for this spectacular wildlife habitat. While your driver-guide takes care of the administrative details, you can stretch your legs with a walk to the small lookout point and admire the beautiful views.

Finally, you will return to your vehicle and enjoy your first Serengeti game drive on the way to your overnight accommodation.

DAY 5: Serengeti National Park – full day

Enjoy your first full day of game viewing in the Serengeti, with packed lunches.  In the Maasai language, “seringit” means “endless plains,”and you will soon understand why! The Serengeti National Park stretches over 15,000 square kilometers (approximately 5,790 square miles) and is quite simply the most magnificent wildlife sanctuary in the world, unparalleled in natural beauty and wilderness. Before sunset, return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6: Serengeti National Park – full day

Spend another full day in the Serengeti seeking out the Great Wildebeest Migration.

DAY 7: Serengeti national park  – full day

Enjoy another action-packed day of game viewing, looking for the migrating herds and their predators.

DAY 8: Departure

After all of the Serengeti excitement, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight back to Arusha, during which you will have the opportunity to see the beautiful Serengeti landscape from the sky!

After arriving at Arusha Airport, you will have some lunch and enjoy a visit to the Cultural Heritage Center before heading to Kilimanjaro Airport for your return flight home or other destination.  The center is known for its galleries filled with locally made crafts, as well as for its gemstones and gemstone jewelry. Depending on your flight time, you might also be able to visit the lovely museum showcasing beautiful artwork from all over Africa.
